Structural, magnetic and dielectric properties of waste magnetic filler rubber nanocomposites

Abstract Nanocomposites based on acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) and ethylene–proplene diene monomer (EPDM) (50/50) filled with different concentrations of nano-waste magnetic filler (nWMF) up to 120 phr were prepared by two laboratory roll mill mixer. nWMF was characterized using XRD, TEM VSM. The nanocomposites investigated techniques: SEM, TGA, DSC. In addition the rheological, mechanical, dielectric properties studied. However, miscibility NBR/EPDM/nWMF is enhanced after (nWMF). Also, it found that thermal stability NBR/EPDM blend improved increasing loadings. incorporation in matrix increased minimum/maximum torque, cure rate index reinforcing factor but decreased both optimum scorch time. mechanical showed an enhancement 40 nWMF. Further, magnetization shows a continuous increase loading. addition, values ε′ ε″ upon rising concentration. nanocomposite containing promising which validate its use for insulating antistatic purposes.
